Getting back to Old School

As i sat and held my two lovely lady pet rats I began to ponder how many of there virtual brethren i had doomed to brutal deaths in my pet project of an rpg maker game. As i pondered this i realized that the world i had built in Old School was to large and developed for me to just leave it to die. So i dug down deep, poured myself a pot of coffee and began attempting to finish this gigantic beast of a game!

Firstly i have fixed the collision on most zones, fixed some major game breaking bugs that were reported to me and continued the main story a bit (theres a main story? wow i never knew either). Some parts of the game have been tinkered with a bit, the out of battle UI was lagging the game and was mostly unnecassary so i removed it for now. I intend to make the new player tutorial experience a bit more ummmm existant at all. Also the function of common and pristine chicken feathers have been changed. common feathers disable random encounters temporarily, and pristine feathers disable collision for the player temporarily, in case you get stuck somewhere or ive made more oopsies in collision.

Anyways to the important bit, further development of this alpha will be through paid download only, It will be an enourmous ammount of work and time to get this game ready for release so i think its fair to start charging at this point. The previous release will be available for free for now, but it has not been updated.

there are some bugs 1 where if u enter a barn u exit from another at the farm  where if u enter and another at a forest it crashes around there the one with the wolf

Loving the game so far!  Great concept, great graphics and game play.  Just a few suggestions.

1.) Found a critical bug.  Not sure when it happened, but I think after I created a Novice Sword, started getting a lot of loading errors where it says it cannot load "img/weapons/Sword Grey.png".  Looking at your code installation, there isn't even a "weapons" directory anywhere.  This bug makes it so you have to kill the game and re-load, and even then, the bug quickly returns.

2.) Get rid of or modify the night/day/weather system.  Its quite annoying.  Night is way too long and makes it impossible to see anything (which may be your point).   The darkness should not extend into building and rooms.  Maybe you need a a time display somewhere so we know when it will be over?

3.) Graphics are great but the screen is too small.  I shouldn't have to scroll to see things I have equipped.  Make it so that when you hover over things that can be collected on the ground, you know it (like with a popup or change of cursor or something).  Right now, you can't tell between the screen art and actual stuff you can pick up.  And you can't tell which trees can be cut down and which cannot.

4.) Make the "Blacksmith" crafting system the same the other crafting systems (i.e. present a list of things you can make based on what you have, listing what you need).

5.) Make it so that when you store stuff in you kitchen storage, you can draw from that to craft stuff in your house.  You shouldn't have to go pull it back out to craft stuff.

6.) Maybe its the way rpg maker is, but I really hate all the double clicking you have to do to get through the menus.

Anyway, thanks for making the game.  I would be willing to contribute if you continue developing!

what do you mean with "Unlock 50 player character appearances. A hero is only as good as his name!" ?
